The 2-do Hemi is a specifically developed wheelchair for hemiplegic users. A ONE-Arm drive system (double hoop to the left or right) or a steering handle can be fitted to the basic model. Users with spastic hemiplegia generally tend not to use the affected side. However, we still attempt to exercise the affected arm in a functional manner using a steering handle. If there is contact between the hand and the steering handle, which changes position in line with the direction, then the hand will also move. This ‘forced' movement is actually a sensor-motor function exercise, which may result in an improved function of that side. Furthermore, the symmetrical pattern can be advanced.
The 2-do Hemi is a 3 or 4 wheel wheelchair for the active user, with numerous adjustment options for individual comfort. The simplicity is characteristic of the true 2-do concept. The 2-do Hemi does not only look sporty, it also handles well with the comfort of an adl wheelchair. The 2-do has light handling, good manoeuvrability and is stable, allowing the user to focus his or her energy on other matters.
